It was the finest villa any of us has ever seen. From top to bottom, this remodeled 17th century villa was exquisite. The pool was Olympic sized with its own restroom. Rooms and villa were cleaned each day from 9:30-11. Breakfast was in a separate building and ready from 8:30am to 10am or whenever you wanted. Chefs arrived at 7AM and the main house remained undisturbed. We would remind everyone that in Europe, when they say 1st floor, they really mean 2nd floor. We planned on having the three 80+ years olds on the 1st floor. The stairs were not bad, but I would just warn everyone. For those of us on the next floor up (3rd floor), you really wanted to make sure you had everything when you came down stairs. For the rest of the villa, the two apartments in the back were not too far from the main house. The A/C was great. There were also bikes, a gym, bocce court, basketball setup, ping pong table and tennis court all with rackets, balls, etc.. We booked the chef for 2 nights. The food was so phenomenal and inexpensive, we actually booked 2 additional nights. Not having to leave the villa and having everyone together for dinner each night was great. Rita's food was the best and she even took off-menu requests. The dinners (without wine) and with tip averaged $50 pp/nt. Their on site winery had some incredible wines and they offered a wine tasting for us. We bought 40+ bottles to drink while we were there and over 120 bottles to ship back to the US. Francesca was our on site concierge and did an excellent job calling our other tour guides to verify meeting locations (this was HUGE). She also called to get a flat tire replaced on a vehicle as well as paid parking tickets for us. Grocery store was less than 10 minutes away and had everything we needed. The entire group opted to stay on site at the pool the first and last day of the trip.
