We enjoyed this beautiful home. We had a wonderful stay in Florence. The market was fantastic! We had fresh fish and pasta every day. The time just flew by. We will love to return some day. This is a wonderful location…so easy to walk everywhere. - Natale & Elisabeth
Ippolita
Europe / Italy / Tuscany
Ippolita is a unique apartment located on the second floor, or “piano nobile”, of a landmarked Florentine palazzo set in an outstanding location inside the historical city center.
Overview
The apartment, meticulously maintained with every detail restored to perfection, faces the famous Cappelle Medicee, which dates back to 16th and 17th centuries. When you step outside the front door you find yourself strolling in the city’s oldest neighborhood, and Santa Maria Novella Rail Station is only 5 minutes away on foot. The location is within walking distance to shopping, world famous museums and galleries and the city’s finest outdoor monuments, beside plenty of restaurants and cafés with ample sidewalk seating perfect for soaking up the atmosphere. The history and integrity of this historic home remains intact, enhanced by modern amenities.
The living room with comfortable sofas and beautiful antiques boasts an exquisite original 18th century frescoed soaring ceiling, depicting an allegory of music. Two bright windows facing the Cappelle Medicee let the natural light flood into the house. The completely frescoed library/tea room, perfect as a place to relax, unwind and enjoy one of the many art books available on the well-stocked bookshelves of the house.
A traditional dining room hosts the most important frescoed ceiling of the Palazzo and it is marked with classic style. The warm wood antiques, several oil paintings of various periods and the Murano hand blown glass chandelier create an elegant space for formal dining. Two large windows let in plenty of natural light.
The special characteristic of this house resides mostly in the details—from the delightful soaring frescoed ceilings and elaborate crown moldings, to the dark wood furnishings that add richness throughout the apartment. A fully equipped modern eat-in kitchen and the laundry room complete this floor.
Well-appointed with modern amenities and elegant décor, Ippolita is the destination of choice for guests who want to be within walking distance from the very best of Florence.

This historical home is beautiful. The owners’ spirit of hospitality sets a new standard for welcoming visitors in the wonderful Florence. - Lance and Diana M.
May the blessing of the spirit of Florence be on all who stay here. The hosts have been the most gracious, kind and helpful we have ever met during our many international travels. Wonderful recommendations and assistance during our stay in this truly amazing home. - Linda M.
Florence is truly spectacular. But it is people like Ippolita’s owners that make it special. Their pride of Florence and their hospitality is a treat. The sights and sounds we carry in our minds, the special people we carry in our hearts forever. We look forward to visiting again … and next time we know where we will stay! - K. Group
Apartment Ippolita in Florence was suburb. Highly recommend it. Very nice people. The owner actually walked us around to show us the location of things and when we left he walked us to the train station and helped carry our bags. The apartment was huge and better equipped than any of the others we have stayed in. Washer/dryer and kitchen were perfect. The frescoes and furnishings were terrific. They also had a cleaning lady coming daily including in the rate. Location was very convenient too. - M. Family
Fabulous, Fantastic, Incredible. These are the words I use to describe our recent visit to Florence, our third trip but definitely not our last.
For years my wife has dreamed of “living” in Florence. So this year we did it. We found an unbelievable villa in downtown Florence, in one of the oldest Piazzas in the city. I’m attaching the brochure for review. You really can’t call this a villa, it’s more of a luxury apartment. 3000 square feet of luxury, with every amenity that one could ask for. This villa was built in the 1400’s, before the US was even discovered. It was re-done in the 1700’s and purchased by the current owner’s family in the 1980’s. It’s pretty incredible to lay in bed at night and look up at beautiful ceilings painted in the mid 1700’s.
The apartment is impeccably maintained, reasonable to rent, and comes with all manner of extras. The extras start with the owner, who doubles as your host and 24/7 concierge. Giovanni is one of the nicest, most accomplished hosts that we have ever had the pleasure to know. This was, without a doubt, the trip of a lifetime. - La March Family
We would have enjoyed out trip to Florence under any circumstance, but Appartamento Ippolita and your hospitality have made it truly special. Saying thank you simply doesn't cature it. From the very first time you welcomed us, we have felt "at home"; your concern for our well-being, your help getting us oriented to our new neighborhood, and your recommendations on the various things we wanted to do were invaluable. Thank you. We feel that we have made new friends in Florence and look forward to seeing you again next year! - The Riviera Family
